In June I rode a short trip from Trondheim to Grimsbu with my brother, me on my BMW F750GS and him on his BMW F850GSA. He’s been riding in that area for many years and was showing me around the many gravel roads around there. On the way back I decided to take a longer route back home, while he had to head straight home to resume work.
I didn’t take travel notes on this journey, so this journal is mostly just maps and photos with some post-trip notes.
June 22 — Trondheim to Grimsbu, 263.00 km

Rode from Trondheim to Grimsbu where we had a cabin at Grimsbu Turistsenter for a couple of days.

June 23 — Roaming around Grimsbu 164.38 km

Road around on various smaller gravel roads in the area. Had a stop at the old mining museum at Folldal Gruver. Went on a tour inside the mines and had dinner at the restaurant on the site, really nice food!

June 24 — Grimsbu to Stranda, 352.61 km

I left for a longer route home while my brother had to take a short route. I drove over Gamle Strynefjell and spent the night at Overvoll Farm. Really lovely place with very friendly owners. Food was great!

June 25 — Stranda to Skei, 334.19 km

Followed the fjords and rode through Eikesdalen to get to Aursjøvegen, a route I’d heard was very popular for adventure riders. And it did not disappoint!

Aursjøvegen
This route a worth highlighting on a separate map:
